Advantages Of a Void Build
Best Void Titan Builds For Lightfall (Sentinel)
Best Void Hunter Builds For Lightfall (Nightstalker)
Best Void Warlock Builds For Lightfall (Voidwalker)
Destiny 2’s Void subclass builds in the Lightfall expansion are great options for players who want improved survivability tactics and crowd-control debuffs. The subclass has been around since the first game’s launch and is represented by a purple-colored manifestation of Light, based primarily on antimatter and gravitational forces. All three classes, Titan, Hunter, and Warlock, can manipulate Void, though each works best when using different aspects of the Light power.
After the 3.0 rework of the Void subclass, customizing builds became easier, giving players more options on how to approach the element and put it to good use on the field, be that in PvE or PvP activities. Additionally, the rework saw its system be aligned with the others, which include Aspects, Fragments, and more. Though it is not as strong as Strand builds in Destiny 2: Lightfall, Void builds are still solid options for players across all classes.

Advantages Of a Void Build
The Void subclasses in Destiny 2: Lightfall are great for players who want an alternative approach to the game beyond simply overpowered attacks. The Light-based subclasses have three significant buffs and three strong debuffs: Devour, Invisibility, Overshield, and Volatile, Suppressed, and Weaken, respectively. With Devour, players can regenerate their HP and get grenade energy, while Invisibility allows them to become harder to see – some buff stacks even make Invisibility grant additional perks, like Volatile Rounds. Finally, Void Overshield is an additional protection that Guardians can get.
Volatile Rounds in Destiny 2 mark opponents and make them explode whenever they take additional damage, which is excellent for damaging multiple foes at once. Additionally, this is a new counter to Barrier Champions as of Destiny 2: Lightfall. Suppressed is a Void subclass debuff that makes those afflicted unable to use any abilities throughout its duration – if they are using an ability and are Suppressed, the ability will be interrupted. Lastly, Weaken makes foes more susceptible to damage while also slowing them. Making a Guardian specialize in a few buffs and debuffs is the key to success. They should not be trying to apply all of them at once.
Best Void Titan Builds For Lightfall (Sentinel)
To reflect a Titan’s natural sturdiness and high Resilience stats, Void Titan builds in Destiny 2: Lightfall should focus on granting them Void Overshield and keeping them alive. As a supporting role, players should also use the Titan as a healer by intensifying Volatile damage output. Weaken is also appreciated, as it can help the team or the players fend off stronger opponents, though not mandatory. Nonetheless, the most straightforward keyword for this build is survivability. The table below has the best Aspects, Fragments, recommended Mods, and more to achieve this.
Destiny 2: Best Titan Void Build | |
---|---|
Super Ability | Ward of Dawn |
Class Ability | Towering Barricade |
Melee Ability | Shield Throw |
Grenade | Vortex Grenade |

Exotic Armor | Heart of Inmost Light |

The main idea for the best Void Titan build guarantees that the Guardian has their Void Overshield up at most times, and when the buff is active, it empowers the damage output. This can be achieved by focusing on creating and getting Orbs of Power. Additionally, Devour is a secondary buff that will regenerate the Titan to full health every time it kills an opponent. Finally, in this build, melee will feed grenades, and grenades will retro-feed melee, keeping up the production of Orbs of Power in Destiny 2, which will keep the Titan alive.

Best Void Hunter Builds For Lightfall (Nightstalker)
Hunter’s Void builds goes in a different direction. The main focus of the build is being Invisible as often as possible and using this buff to either empower damage output or increase resistance. In addition, Volatile Rounds and Devour play an essential part in destroying enemies and keeping the Guardian alive, respectively. With the following build, players should be able to keep themselves Invisible quite often while also being able to reposition themselves and take advantage of the extra buffs they get through Fragments and Mods in Destiny 2.
Destiny 2: Best Hunter Void Build | |
---|---|
Super Ability | Moebius Quiver |
Class Ability | Gambler's Dodge |
Melee Ability | Snare Bomb |
Grenade | Vortex Grenade |
Aspects |
|
Fragments |
|
Exotic Armor | Gyrfalcon's Hauberk, Omnioculus, or Orpheus Rig |
Stat Priority |
|
Best Mods |
|
The above spread of Abilities, Stats, and Mods should allow Void Hunter builds to see characters going Invisible quite often. The main difference in how they will play out depends mainly on the Exotic armor piece they employ. While Orpheus Rig should be used for boss-melting situations, Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk and Omnioculus can be chosen for broader PvE or PvP gameplay. Because the Void Hunter in Destiny 2 will be Invisible so often, they do not need to invest so much in Mobility since they can reposition themselves with less concern of being hit, especially by adds.
Best Void Warlock Builds For Lightfall (Voidwalker)
Of all three Void class builds in Destiny 2, Warlocks are the most dependent on the Devour buff, making them constantly regenerate their HP. Additionally, players should focus on turning their Void Warlock into grenadiers, where they will continuously use the Ability to trigger the Devour buff. Finally, unlike Titans and Hunters, Warlocks will also focus heavily on Weakening opponents, for their own benefit or the Fireteam’s, while taking advantage of Volatile Rounds.
Destiny 2: Best Warlock Void Build | |
---|---|
Super Ability | Nova Bomb: Vortex or Nova Bomb: Cataclysm |
Class Ability | Healing Rift |
Melee Ability | Pocket Singularity |
Grenade | Scatter Grenade |
Aspects |

Fragments |

Exotic Armor | Nothing Manacles or Nezarec's Sin |
Stat Priority |

Best Mods |

With this Void build, Warlocks can become some of the strongest Guardians across the entire game, especially in high-end PvE content. By constantly spamming grenades, generating Orbs of Power, healing through Devour, and spreading Void damage through Volatile Rounds for further grenade energy and Orbs of Power, Void Warlocks in Destiny 2 are not to be trifled with. The choice of the Exotic depends on the player’s preference – Scatter Grenades should be available quite often, so the additional charge provided by Nothing Manacles may be dispensable – or a boon for a grenade specialist.
